Diego's journey in sound started in his native Colombia. There, he decided to skip his organ lessons and learn to play drums instead. This decision led him to collaborate with local bands and friends, experimenting with his first recordings and demos while still in high school. He began his education in audio at Miami SAE Institute's audio engineering program. After working in the South Florida music scene, his love for sound design and cinema drove him to New York City and HOBO Audio.
Diego has been awarded multiple times with the prestigious Telly Award for his sound design work in film and advertising. His creative work is featured on networks such as Netflix, NBC Sports, YouTube Originals, Hulu, AppleTV, Nicktoons and NatGeo. He has also had a influential hand in campaigns for brands including MasterClass, Peloton, Starbucks, Google, Nintendo, Patron, Disney, Carnival, Macy's and more. In 2018 Diego was also nominated for a sound editing MPSE Golden Reel Award for his work on the Netflix documentary 'Amanda Knox.
