And, for your viewing pleasure, Bennett finally got all the pictures out of his old cameraphone and realized he had some great shots on there of the initial cutting-through-the-wall-and-general-mess-making phase of things.  Enjoy!

Creative teams for Crown Royal, Dairy Queen, and Humalog were in for audio work on sales and promotional films.

Mark Corbin, Senior Audio Engineer at InDemand, has set up camp in Studio B, which was recently configured for 5.1 surround. He’s been mixing promos for The Howard Stern Show as well as InDemand’s Hi-Definition network MOJO, among others.

Silver Plume Productions is mixing a new TV series at Hobo for the Food Network called Rescue Chef. The series premiered in March. For more information on the show, check out http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_rb/.

The team from Animated Storyboards has been in recording test spots for Plavix, Lotrimin, and Stayfree. The Hobos also held casting for the Plavix and Lotrimin spots as well as for the Popeye’s radio campaign.

Famed fashionista Candy Pratts Price recently spent the morning in Studio A dishing style and fashion dirt for Condé Nast’s CandyCast. Hobo engineers mixed an Internet promotion for Hasbro’s Littlest Pet Shop featuring The Disney Channel’s Aly and AJ. Also in the studio for VO recording and editing is BrainPop, an interactive educational website.

We are very excited to announce that Bally Master, a film by Gary Beeber and mixed at Hobo in Studio B, has won “Best Documentary Short” at the Coney Island Film Festival. For festival dates and a trailer, see www.garybeeber.com.

oh no! it’s glitch! 01/16/08

For those of you that have been on the official Hobo Audio tour, you probably ‘get’ the cartoons that appear throughout our site. For those of you that haven’t, a) what are you waiting for?! and 2) here’s the story:

Since Hobo’s inception, it has always been a goal of ours (please forgive my marketing-speak) not just to provide the most comfortable place that can fulfill all your recording needs, but also to establish a culture around here that affects all the work we do. What kind of culture, you may ask? Well, we haven’t quite settled on a buzzword/phrase to characterize it quite yet (’scrumtrilescence‘ comes to mind)… but a very large aspect of what we’re all about is to compliment our amazing work with an incredibly fun environment in which to get your work done. (We’ve had more than a handful of clients stick around well after their session is done because they prefer our office to theirs!) So… when the studio was originally being constructed, Howard called on an old friend / storyboard artist to paint the tall, bare, white walls in our lounge with a comic strip… and thus, Audioman and Glitch were born. In between sessions, we’ve been having some fun elaborating on and continuing the story through recordings, which we’ve been turning into podcasts and will periodically appear on our site. You’ve been warned…

Ho-ho-hobo! 12/20/07

I’ve always wanted to send out holiday pictures in the style of a 1920s-era basketball team, but never was able to convince anyone… until I started working at hobo. We’ve got the behind-the-scenes pix of the photo shoot for our 2007 holiday card on our Flickr page (taken in the soon-to-be-built Studio C!):

And if you haven’t seen it yet, you must check out our Hobo Holiday Party invite on youtube. I promise we thought of this *before* we knew about the Chipmunks movie!

Happy holidays and best wishes for an amazing ‘08 from all of us at hobo!
